Position Highlights:

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Arizona Health Sciences in Tucson invites applicants for a tenured faculty position in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. Applicants from all areas of toxicology will be considered. A highly competitive startup package is available for this recruitment. The incumbent will join a department with current research strength in multiple areas of mechanistic toxicology, including signal transduction, redox biology, epigeonomics, xenobiotic biotransformation, toxicogenomics, chemical carcinogenesis, and biomarker research. An endowed chair is available.Excellent opportunities exist for research collaborations with a large number of toxicology and environmental health sciences research groups including the NIEHS Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center, the Environment, Exposure Science & Risk Assessment Center, the University of Arizona Superfund Research Program, and the University of Arizona Institute of the Environment. The College of Pharmacy is currently ranked 8th nationally in NIH Funding.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The successful candidate should have a strong track record of scholarly productivity and demonstrated ability to secure independent, peer-reviewed publications, gain competitive federal grants, and play a key role in national leadership in an area of toxicology. The individual will also participate in the Pharmacology and Toxicology Graduate Training Program and the NIH Training Program in Environmental Toxicology of Human Disease.

  • Maintain independent research programs.
  • Maintain strong, extramurally funded programs.
  • Produce strong peer-reviewed publications.
  • Contribute to undergraduate, graduate (Ph.D., M.S.) and professional (PharmD) education.
  • Actively participate in divisional/departmental program metrics in an area of toxicology.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D., PharmD or MD degree
  • Demonstrated ability to secure independent, peer-reviewed research funding such as an NIH R01.

Preferred Qualifications:
