Position: Visiting Assistant Professor of Christian Formation and Ministry (One-Year) Location: Chicago, IL
Job Id: 606 # of Openings: 1 The Christian Formation and Ministry Department at Wheaton College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning 1 August 2021. A Ph.D., or equivalent, or an ABD, by August 2021 is preferred. The candidate should have a solid biblical and theological academic foundation with an emphasis upon spiritual formation and ministry, demonstrated excellence in teaching, a strong foundation in the liberal arts, and experience in discipleship and mentoring. Preference will be given to candidates with experience or expertise in global and/or multicultural contexts, and with proven ability to teach. The person will teach undergraduate courses in the Department of Christian Formation and Ministry from the following options during their year-long appointment: Introduction to Christian Formation and Ministry, Human Development and Ministry, Discipleship, Philosophy of Ministry, and Compassion and Crisis Ministry. The person holding this position is expected to exhibit excellence in teaching, fulfill responsibilities and duties of a faculty member in the CFM department, and to participate in the life of the local church. Commitment to liberal arts education and to the preparation of students for ministry is essential.
