Hiring Department Miner Wellness Application DeadlineMarch 5, 2021 Full Time/Part TimeFull Time, Benefit Eligible Salary16.92/hour Job DescriptionUnder the direction of the Director of Miner Wellness, the Wellness Coordinator for Health Promotion Initiatives will assist in the development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation of comprehensive wellness messages, campaigns, social media, digital content, and peer education programs for the S&T campus community. The successful candidate will utilize best practices and evidence-based strategies to guide efforts that will serve to enhance student learning and support the mission of the institution. Responsibilities
  • Responsible for selected components of the Miner Wellness program, primarily the promotion of health and well-being resources, initiatives, and peer education programs
  • Serve as marketing chair and general member of multiple cross-campus committees to create and market wellness programming
  • Advise the peer education network
  • Manage multiple health and well-being departments’ social media accounts, department and division websites, online wellness course, and other digital platforms
  • Oversee production of and write for monthly wellness newsletter for faculty and staff
  • Supervise student employees
  • Oversee student education network
  • Train student employees on outreach and communication within the department
  • Facilitate wellness consultations with students
  • Provide educational outreach, training, and programming to the S&T campus community
  • Serve as a health/wellness resource to the campus community
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion, Communications, or related field
  • Proficient, clear writing and verbal communication skills
  • At least one year experience working in higher education
  • Experience supervising and advising college students
  • At least one year experience working with peer educators
  • At least one year experience managing social media, websites, other digital platforms
  • At least one year experience creating a newsletter or other broad message to a community
  • Effective written and verbal communication and public speaking skills
  • Experience with contemporary digital tools, image and design tools, platforms, and channels
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends
