(Contingent upon available funding):650.00 - 650.00, Salary Work Schedule:VariesJob Summary:Teaches up to 9 credit hours during the Fall Semester. Presents in a clear and concise format, using a variety of instructional methods. Assesses student learning in regard to specific domains of learning. Works cooperatively with peers, students, staff and faculty as well as business and industry clients. Maintains student records.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Teach up to 9 credit hours per semester. This may include evening instruction.
2. Maintain student and course records
3. Maintain and file current course outlines, objectives, grading criteria and syllabi for all courses taught
4. Assist in the design and revision of courses and curricula
5. Participate in staff development, seminars, workshops, professional organizations, or professional literary material

Bachelor's degree in related field
Certifications &/or Licenses:
RID Certification or ASLTA certifcation ( or eligible for certification).
Minimum of five years employment as an interpreter (if hearing)
Experience in evaluation of interpreters in an interpreter evaluation system
Previous instructional experience in an interpreting program, which includes a minimum of three comprehensive classes in which the incumbent was lead instructor or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
High level of competence in teaching
Strong working knowledge of interpreting and evaluation systems
Excellent bilingual English/ASL communication skills, verbally and writing
Excellent presentation skills
Ability to assess learning and student progress
Ability to create and maintain a positive learning environment, displaying and requiring professionalism in all classroom activities
Knowledge of audio-visual instructional equipment and computer programs
Ability to work with Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint) as well as e-mail and internet navigation
Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior
