ACED (Adult Continuing Education for Persons with Developmental Disabilities) teaches classes on four campuses throughout the Kansas City metro are. ACED is housed with IHD (Institute for Human Development) with the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

Job Description This is a temporary, non-tenure-accruing, non-benefits eligible position. Appointment periods are for the course session(s) with consideration for reappointment. Salaries are negotiable based on education and experience.

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

    Contribute to the academic and service environments for ACEDCommunicates clearly in a timely manner issues and/or concerns regarding student issues to the ACED DirectorRespond to email, phone calls, questions and other inquiries in a timely mannerPromote and sustain positive relationships with the students, other ACED teachers, campus coordinator and Director.Demonstrate knowledge, skills and dispositions that clearly align with the ACED mission, vision, and valuesTeach students in groups. Courses offered are continuing educationDemonstrate and reflect knowledge of effective instructional practices for diverse classrooms
Minimum Qualifications ACED Specialists must apply and submit to an interview with the ACED Director.

1. Knowledge of class material

2. Demonstrated understanding of the ACED mission and values

3. Familiarity with teaching applied lessons

4. Demonstrated highly successful experience teaching or equivalent experience
