The University of Maine invites applications and nominations for the position of Special Assistant for Strategic Initiatives. The Special Assistant will support the coordination and management of major university strategic initiatives and will assist in support of the overall Provost’s Office operations as needed.

The Special Assistant will assist the Provost and Associate Provosts in managing strategic relationships and communication regarding strategic initiatives; coordinate the preparation of special reports, document, and presentations; support members of senior academic leadership in establishing priorities and goals, policies, and practices; track and follow up on a wide range of programs, initiatives, and activities for Academic Affairs; etc.

The Special Assistant will typically possess the education associated with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience as well as work experience of at least 3 or more years in a higher education setting; demonstrate knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures; have exceptional interpersonal skills; demonstrate the ability to perform complex tasks, prioritize multiple projects, and analyze, summarize, and effectively present data; and demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills.  Experience reporting to a senior administrator and familiarity with the workings of a college/university are preferred.  A complete position description can be found here:  https://umaine.hiretouch.com/job-details?jobID=66831&job=special-assistant-for-strategic-initiatives
