JOB SUMMARY:

Clemson University's Campbell Graduate Engineering Program is looking for an Electrical Technician to fulfill the following duties:

  • Serves as Electrical Technician assisting the Deep Orange team, supporting students in the rapid prototyping of DO vehicles.
  • Works closely with students, guiding them in the manufacture, fabrication and machining components & systems. (Each year, a new DO vehicle is designed and built from the ground up, resulting in unique challenges and opportunities in fabrication and manufacturing.)


JOB DUTIES:

30% - Essential - Electrical and Control System:
Assists and guides the students in the development of the electrical and control system for the deep orange vehicles.

30% - Essential - High-voltage DC Power Systems:
Assists and works with the students in the implementation of high-voltage DC power systems for automotive vehicles.

25% - Essential - Electrical Circuits:
Assists and works with the students to build electrical circuits (integrated circuit boards) from schematics and the design and implementation of wire harness.

15% - Essential - Troubleshooting:
Assists students with troubleshooting for computer, server and/or software problems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education High School Diploma or Equivalent and Technical School in Electronics/Electrical

Work Experience 3+ Years

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education Education in the field of electrical circuits and electronic systems; diagnosing and repairing moderately complex electronic systems.

Work Experience Experience with high-voltage DC power systems for automotive vehicles; diagnosing and repairing automotive systems; Forklift operation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
