Duties/Responsibilities:Generating and characterizing CRISPR-mediated knock-out and knock-in cell lines for downstream screening assays and analysis of glycosylation pathways.

Position Summary:The Weiss Lab at The University of Georgia’s Complex Carbohydrate Research Center (www.ccrc.uga.edu) is looking to recruit a motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on research projects focusing on the regulation of glycosaminoglycan biosynthesis in human diseases. Successful applicants will join an exciting new research program and will develop genomic and chemical biology tools to investigate the regulatory mechanisms of glycosylation. This is a term-limited position with the option to renew, contingent on performance and availability of funding.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:PhD in biochemistry, genetics, cell biology or a related discipline.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies :Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture techniques, CRISPR/Cas9 technologies, and/or epigenetic/transcriptional tools to study gene regulation.
Strong communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English.
Proven track record of publishing peer reviewed papers.
Team player who thrives working creatively in a collaborative scientific environment.
