The University of Virginia's Faculty and Employee Assistance Program (FEAP) seeks a Faculty and Employee Assistance Program Consultant. FEAP offers quality, professional, and comprehensive services, tailored to individual needs. FEAP Consultants provide expert consultation and training for organization leadership seeking to manage employee needs, enhance the work environment, and improve employee job performance. Services include: organizational consultation to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) accounts, developing program awareness and education activities, clinical intervention and referral, crisis intervention, establishing community linkages, and case management. The Consultant is Responsible for developing and maintaining EAP accounts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides consultation to supervisors, managers, human resources, and employee relations.
  • Provides training and development services to EAP accounts.
  • Performs account development and management for assigned EAP accounts.
  • Provides Comprehensive Assistance Services to employees and family members.
  • Follows clinical and ethical guidelines of the Employee Assistance Program Association (EAPA) and those of the corresponding Clinical License (LPC, LCSW, CNS).
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.


Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree in Counseling/Social Work/Psychology/Marriage & Family Therapy is strongly preferred.
Experience: 5 years relevant experience
Licensure: Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) Certification required within 24 months of hire; OR Licensed to practice as a Social Worker Professional Counselor, Marriage & Family Therapist or CNS in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
