This position is within the Renovations Department of Facilities Management Services.
- Coordinates the repair and renovation projects in various trades. The employee is responsible for project planning, managing materials and equipment, assigning work duties, assessing projected time and needs.Reviews project plans, drawing, and specifications, deliberates with estimators, project superintendents to adjust discrepancies. Inspects completed work for craftsmanship and conformance with design standards.Manages personnel actions of the Renovations including interviewing applicants, handling disciplinary actions, and recommending personnel for promotion, salary change, hiring and termination. Prepares formal performance evaluations for employees assigned to the Renovations division. Determines personnel, equipment, and materials needed and ensures that manpower and materials are obtained as needed to meet schedules. Will supervise the Renovation employees in the absence of Director.Assists Director with developing objectives for the Renovations department and ensures that objectives are accomplished. Conducts staff meeting and maintain communications with employees, peers, and other University staffs as needed.Supervises the activities of Renovations employees, including skilled craft workers, construction contractors and assigned administrative staffs.Involves in project scheduling, planning, and establishing critical path to meet deadlines.Meets with customers, contractors, and/or architects. Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
