Description
The Human Capital Management & Records (HCMR) department seeks to hire a skilled & strategic Director, Human Capital Management & Records.  This position leads the team responsible for ensuring GSU new hires are onboarded timely and terminations are off-boarded timely. The Human Capital Management (HCM) area is responsible for ensuring the database is up to date for various reporting and payroll processing purposes. This individual also ensures regulatory compliance within the area. The scope of responsibility will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following,

  • Oversees the daily operations of the Human Capital Management & Records area.  This includes strategic planning, operations, and customer service.
    • Ensures New Hires are on-boarded timely
    • Ensures Terminations are off-boarded timely
    • Ensures all MSS Transactions are processed timely
    • Ensures personnel records are managed based upon USG and State of Georgia retention requirements
    • Ensures Employment Verifications are processed timely
    • Ensure compliance with various regulatory reporting
  • Assist CHRO with creating new and enhancing existing departmental policies and procedures.  Work with the university community to ensure adherence to said policies and procedures
  • Supervise, manage, train, and develop staff
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Consult/collaborate with other units for various projects/data requests, as needed
  • Serves as champion for the area within the university community.  This includes participating with other units within the university community.  Various Training sessions will be conducted to ensure proper onboarding

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and five years of related supervisory/managerial experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

The university announced in April 2008 that is will begin Division I-AA football in 2010.

The university’s innovative Touch the Earth program brings outdoor recreation ranging from backpacking, rock climbing, sailing, kayaking, rafting and water-skiing to out-of-state snow-skiing and snorkeling trips. And WRAS, Georgia State’s popular 100,000-watt radio voice, is the most powerful student-run radio station in the United States.
