The Cardiac Cath Lab at Duke University Hospital is active in delivering exemplary care for each patient to ensure an excellent patient experience, every time.

High volume cardiac catheterization center. Our interventional cardiologists perform more than 3,000 interventional cardiac catheterizations each year. Duke Hospital performs the most innovative procedures such as placement of mitral clips and TAVR. There are five catheterization labs at Duke Hospital and an additional two hybrid OR rooms, with another two catheterization labs at both Duke Regional and Duke Raleigh Hospitals.

The Clinical Nurse assists in cardiac catheterizations as well as vascular and interventional procedures. The nurse also performs emergency procedures associated with catheterization procedures such as IAB and temporary pacemaker insertion, so this is the ideal environment for nurses who enjoy a fast-paced and exciting work environment.

Work Hours & Shifts:

Full Time: Four 10-hour day shifts per week. A rotating schedule allows employees a four-day weekend once a month. Applicants must meet the on-call requirement which includes a 30-minute travel time to Duke Hospital.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.

Experience

Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level.

Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
