Normal Work Schedule: Weekend news and some weeknight news hours for 5:00, 6:00 and 10 o'clock newscasts

Job Summary: The incumbent in this position serves as weathercaster for WVUA-7, a commercial TV station, during local newscasts. This position works to build and present on-air weather forecasts designed for WVUA's local audience and represents WVUA-7 at community functions. The incumbent also works as a news reporter or producer in planning, writing and coordinating the production of at least one daily newscast for live broadcast in television which includes writing scripts in broadcast format and style as determined by industry standards and match those scripts with the appropriate video for broadcast.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma and three (3) years of experience; OR pursuing a bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered. Ability to research, write, report, produce, videotape and anchor news and weather stories required. Exceptional verbal, writing, interviewing, planning and organizational skills required. Exemplary on-air presentation skills required.
