Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:The CNNC promotes access and integration for immigrants and refugees in North Carolina by bridging newcomer populations with existing communities through direct service provision, research, and training. Specifically, the CNNC conducts:
• Community-based outreach initiatives and programming to help immigrants and refugees build their capacity to navigate complex systems in their new home.
• Research and evaluation studies to educate the general public, track demographic trends, and enhance the quality of service provision.
• Experiential training and leadership development for all community members through AmeriCorps positions, internships, volunteer experiences, and workshops.
Position Summary:The University Program Associate will work with the director of the AmeriCorps project with concentration in the areas of training coordination, grant support, and program support by recruiting, and hiring AmeriCorps members.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with AmeriCorps program. Experience in working with grants and meeting deadlines. Marketing and web experience.
Alternate Option:If no applicants apply who meet the required competency level and training & experience requirements, then management may consider other applicants. Salary would be determined based on competencies, equity, budget, and market considerations.

Key Responsibility:Member Recruitment and Support
Essential Tasks:Assist with the recruitment and selection process for new members. Oversee the hiring process of new members including background checks and the National Criminal History Service Check.
Key Responsibility:Program Support
Essential Tasks:Assist with program manual revisions and updating program documents. Assist with facilitating and maintaining statewide program marketing and communication. Maintain AmeriCorps ACCESS website and social media accounts. Monitor AmeriCorps ACCESS email account daily responding as needed or forwarding to the director for response. Comply with program deadlines.
Key Responsibility:Training Coordination
Essential Tasks:Oversee AmeriCorps training program in collaboration with other CNNC staff, including curriculum development and supplemental training program and managing/presenting member trainings. Coordinate quarterly site supervisor trainings. Coordinate AmeriCorps events such as AmeriCorps National Identity Days Service Projects and graduation events, including graduation video. Attend NC Commission on Volunteerism & Community Service trainings as needed. Conduct statewide AmeriCorps site visits for technical assistance and monitoring.
Key Responsibility:General Grant Support
Essential Tasks:Contribute to writing annual grant proposal under the direction of the AmeriCorps Director. Assist with completion of required program quarterly reports. Assist AmeriCorps director as needed. Other duties as assigned.
