Position Summary
The HR Recruiter develops and implements recruiting plans andstrategies designed to fulfill the college’s staffing needs. The Recruiter isresponsible for recruiting, interviewing and screening potential candidates;and ensuring all steps of the pre-employment process are complete forcandidates who are hired. Also responsible for ensuring a positive andeffective candidate journey as it relates to the overall candidate andonboarding experience at the college.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
RECRUITING

Administers the employment/staffing function of the Collegeby ensuring staffing goals are consistently met through the development andimplementation of best practice recruiting strategies. Recruits, interviews,and screens applicants for the College. Partners directly with Hiring Managersto ensure all requirements are updated, position descriptions are accurate andaccurate screening criteria are established.

Reviews resumes/applications to identify qualifiedcandidates for vacant or new positions, conducts screening interviews and requiredtesting, completes reference and background checks, and forwards qualified jobcandidates to the appropriate Hiring Manager. Responsible for job postings,external advertising, screening interviews and required testing, and trackingthe candidate journey.

As ambassadors for the College, also responsible forrelationships and partnerships with external companies and organizations toimprove the College’s networking, sourcing and prospecting for applicants.

ADMINISTRATION 

Completes and processes new hire information, schedulespre-employment screenings, works closely with appropriate departmentsconcerning incoming employees, and coordinates with the ProfessionalDevelopment and Retention team on implementation of new hire orientation toensure successful candidate onboarding experience. Ensures employee files arecomplete and forwards all necessary HRIS information for hire to theappropriate area for processing and entry in the HR database in a timelyfashion.

SUPPORT & TRAINING

Participates in HR projects, such as researching best practicesrelated to HR issues, policies and programs; develops and produces variousreports; develops staffing and briefing materials; plans, prepares materialsfor, or participates in special events or programs. Assists and/or facilitatestraining specific to the Talent Acquisition department.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Attends all required department meetings and training. May be required to be available through a mobile device viavoice and/or data during and outside of normal working hours, at the manager’sdiscretion, and must respond within a reasonable timeframe. Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect andinclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.

USUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee regularly exhibits digitaldexterity when entering data into computer, frequently sits for extendedperiods of time, and occasionally stands and walks. Employee occasionallyreaches with hands or arms and stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. Employeeconverses verbally with others in person and by telephone. Vision demandsinclude close, detailed vision when focusing on computer screen. Employeeoccasionally lifts or exerts force up to 10 pounds.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of: federal andstate laws and regulations pertaining to employment; employment law,specifically as it relates to staffing and recruiting practices; recruitingtrends and technologies.

Skill in: research and analysis;sourcing and attracting candidates by using databases, social media and otherrecruiting platforms; excellent verbal and written communication; organization;customer service; conflict resolution; general typing; application of jobsoftware including word processing and spreadsheets; proofreading standardbusiness correspondence and other written documents; customer service; officeorganization; creating functional report formats; verbal and writtencommunications; performing mathematical calculations including addition,subtraction, multiplication, decimals, percentages and fractions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, BusinessAdministration or a related field; or five (5) years of experience in the HumanResources field, specifically in the areas of staffing/recruitment. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s). An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.
