Job Details:

The College of Humanities and Fine Arts at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for the newly-created Department of Intelligence and Security Studies beginning August 2021.

This new department is the result of a highly successful major program that has been in operation since 2012. In that time, the program has grown to more than 300 students and has a strong placement record for our graduates.

Preference will be given to applicants with broad training in intelligence studies, particularly with specializations related to open source and social media intelligence collection and analysis. The ability to offer courses in cyber threat analysis would also be highly desirable. Competencies in other areas, such as social network analysis, counterintelligence, law enforcement intelligence, and emerging technologies in security would also be of interest. Prior professional work experience in the field of intelligence is welcome, but not required.
Candidates are required to have a doctoral degree in a relevant field of study by the time of appointment. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the field, as well as support the continued growth and development of the Intelligence and Security Studies Department. The teaching load is 21 credit hours per academic year structured as a 4-3 load. Prior experience with distance learning would be beneficial.
