May be requested to support front office during the two-month time-off during summer sessions on an as-needed basis to cover sick and vacation time.Primary Purpose of Position:
This position is to check in, check out and assist patients at SHC whether they are on the phone with inquiries or they have a scheduled appointment.
This position is responsible for interactions with students, parents and staff members.
This positions ensures protocol is followed and will see that necessary forms are completed by each patient, whether the forms are electronic or paper.
This position will check medicat generated tickets and reports for accuracy.
This position is necessary for the function of the clinic.Minimum Education/Experience:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school, or completion of its equivalency, and two years of office/clerical work experience; or an equivalent combination of training/experience.Essential Job Duties:
Employee will be working the front desk at the Student Health Center.
The essential job duties would be to check patients in and out of their appointments, and to make general medical appointments for patients, and to collect patient information.
Check Medicat generated tickets and reports for accuracy.Other Work Responsibilities:
Candidate must have experience, or show competency in working with cash, credit cards deposits.
Should have specific knowledge and competency in making medical appointments.Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
High school and at least three years of medical office experience.
Working knowledge of medical and non-medical software.
Knowledge of the University Banner software system is helpful.
Working knowledge of medical front office responsibilities and tasks.
Experience with making general practice medical appointments, checking patients in and out, working with multiple providers, collecting patient information, with insurance billing and coding, and work with a diverse patient population.Work Location:
