The work schedule is primarily 8:00am – 5:00pm; Monday – Friday. Some flexibility may be required to assist with special events held outside of the primary work schedule.Primary Purpose of Position:
The Undergraduate Student Services Coordinator (USSC) will support the Belk College of Business Niblock Student Center, the College Advising Center, and the Belk College Special Programs Director. In this role, the USSC must apply an in depth knowledge of multiple program areas in order to provide effective customer service, lead project work, and assess problems and take appropriate action. The USSC must be able to prioritize workload, apply conflict management techniques, and work effectively with students, parents, faculty, and staff. The position requires the ability to conduct research, collect data, analyze information and produce reports and program materials. The USSC should be able to review the work of and mentor student workers. The USSC must exercise confidentiality and is responsible for complying with FERPA (Family Education Rights and Privacy Acts).Minimum Education/Experience:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of administrative or office management experience in the student services or related field; or equivalent.Essential Job Duties:
The Undergraduate Student Services Coordinator is the initial point of contact for anyone visiting or making an inquiry of the Undergraduate Programs office in the Belk College of Business. This individual must interface effectively with a diverse audience, develop knowledge of programs, policies and resources, and be adept at identifying problems and conveying clear and accurate information. This individual is also responsible for assisting other staff in the Undergraduate Programs area with event preparation and with projects that involve data collection, analysis of information and report writing.Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
Professional office management or administrative experience, with experience in the area of student services;
Prior experience working in a higher education setting;
Must be accountable, adaptable, customer service oriented, be a team player, possess organizational awareness, and be able to take initiative; and
Candidates should display confidence and professionalism in daily tasks.Work Location:
