JOB SUMMARY

The Research Coordinator (Research Assistant 2) will closely with the Program Director and Principal Investigator to oversee center activities and research tasks and for multiple research projects conducted in the UConn Center for mHealth and Social Media at the Institute for Collaboration on Health, Intervention and Policy (InCHIP). The desired applicant will have previous experience in behavioral research.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the development of the study protocols.
  • Assist with the training and supervision of students and research staff.
  • Help monitor the organization, entry, completeness, and adequacy of study data.
  • Recruit participants and complete eligibility screenings in person and by phone.
  • Schedule and complete study assessments.
  • Complete evening calls or study visits as needed (no more than 2 times per week).
  • Manage group settings and content feed for Facebook groups.
  • Assist with the preparation of study reports.
  • Coordinates registration and logistics of Center events including webinars, trainings, presentations, and conferences.
  • Maintains the Center website to edit with updated information regularly.
  • Responsible for development of digital media.
  • Attend staff meetings as required.
  • Perform other research-related duties as required.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and two to three years of post-degree experience or a Master’s degree and from no experience to one year of post-degree experience.
  • Previous research experience involving human subjects.
  • Experience in health and/or behavioral research.
  • Work experience interfacing with the public.
  • Experience with data entry, word processing, or related computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with the general public, study personnel, and university staff.
  • Ability to perform calls or study visits on evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Ability to travel to off site locations for work.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experienced with social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Previous website editing experience
  • Video editing
  • Strong writing skills
  • Preparing IRB documents.
  • Experience with developing and working in tracking systems such as REDCap.
  • Experience using statistical software such as SAS or SPSS.
  • APPOINTMENT TERMS

    This is a full-time, annually renewable, grant-funded position. The investigators have projects sponsored for the next several years. Salary will be commensurate with successful candidate's background and experience. Screening of applications will begin immediately.
