Job Summary Job ID: 224087 Position:20010078 Augusta University’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a full-time Urogynecologist to join our thriving division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Responsibilities will include direct patient care and teaching medical students and residents in the clinical and surgical evaluation and management of disorders of the urogenital tract and pelvic floor, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence, hematuria, and pelvic pain while collaborating with other departments in clinical research and projects. Successful candidates will have a proven history of excellent clinical and surgical skills, involvement with clinical research, and strong desire to be involved with resident and medical student teaching. The position is for an Assistant Professor with competitive compensation and outstanding benefits.Department Marketing Statement We are proud of our tradition of providing excellent care to women suffering from pelvic floor disorders in the Central Savannah River Area and surrounding communities while advancing education and discovery in Women's Health. Our Division currently includes two physicians, one advanced practice provider with an additional pending position, and a dedicated, well-trained, and motivated staff. Augusta University Health is an academic health center located in Augusta, Georgia and is home the Medical College of Georgia, the state’s only public medical school. The hospital serves multiple counties in northeast Georgia, where the health system provides both primary and tertiary care. We receive tertiary referrals from across Georgia and South Carolina. Comprehensive women's health care services are provided across all subspecialties in a dynamic and growing department. The community of Augusta combines the traditions of the old south with the buzz of a growing metropolitan culture. The region also has an expanding restaurant and nightlife scene and plays host to the world at the annual Master's Golf Tournament held at the Augusta National in April each year.Minimum Requirements Candidates must be board-eligible or board-certified in FPMRS, as well as eligible for an active Georgia State medical license.Preferred Qualifications Preference is for candidates who (1) are eager to help further expand our academic and clinical program (2) are well-trained in vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic pelvic reconstructive surgery and (3) have demonstrated a commitment to patient safety and quality, educating the next generation of physicians, excellence in patient care, and advancement of knowledge through innovative clinical research.
