The Clinical Research Nurse Manager for UCI’s Center for Clinical Research is responsible for overseeing the operations of the center’s research clinics. The Center for Clinical Research (UCI-CCR) has four clinic research spaces at Orange and Irvine Campuses with a plan for expansion.

The incumbent will provide leadership, direction, and guidance to a number of staff across clinical trials, oversee a team of clinical research nurses, administrative staff, and laboratory staff in support of clinical research projects. Additionally, the manager will provide clinical and administrative nursing support and oversight for research clinical trials based on scope of practice. The incumbent will conduct regular meetings with reports, mentor staff, and complete employee evaluations.

The incumbent is expected to oversee medications and treatments administration per GCP and study specific protocols for research participants.

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the quality of patient care delivery and serves as a role model, developing and auditing record keeping procedures and ensuring compliance at every level, and providing support in auditing and monitoring activities.

The incumbent also assists with preparing operational reports and metrics for senior leaders at CCR, and support with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources, supervising staff involved in providing interdisciplinary clinical / nursing care, such as RDA, RDH, RNs, LVNs, etc.

Compensation Range:

Annually. $81,400.00 - $133,500.00

Required:

5 or more years in clinical supervisory roles and experience or at least 2 years of management roles and experience with advanced degree in healthcare management and/or administration.

Clinical Nursing Research experience preferred.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.

Registered Nurse in the State of California.

Demonstrated skills to effectively supervise clinical nurses and staff and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a clinic(s)/center(s).

Strong knowledge of practice operations.

In depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards and care delivery, systems, external regulations, and internal policies.

Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions.

Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaborations and problem solving with all levels of management, staff, consultants, and outside agencies.

Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, and to convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner.

Strong knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in clinic/center patient care.
