Job Summary:

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Colorado is seeking a 0.14 FTE Associate Professor in the field of epidemiology. The incumbent will be Research Mentor who will work directly with researchers on high impact strategies for development of their work. The incumbent will collaborate with junior investigators and residents at all PM&R affiliate locations and linking them up with experienced teams and PI mentors. The Research Mentor will foster success by aiming at measurable results and funded proposals. This faculty member will also work on the ANF Narrative Expressive Writing (NEW) Program. This is a modified written exposure therapy to help frontline nurses and health care workers manage stress and promote wellbeing during the COVID-19 pandemic response. NEW participants write about their COVID-19 specific experiences over 5 sessions. Following each writing session, mental health professionals with training in trauma focused interventions provide structured, tailored written feedback to participants. The feedback, which incorporates techniques such as single and double-sided reflection, challenging of cognitive distortions and cognitive reframing, is designed to promote cognitive flexibility in response to stressful events.

Salary and Benefits: .

The hiring salary is $19,306. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

  • PhD in psychology, biology, or related field

  • Experience in an academic clinical environment
