Responsibilities

This position reports directly to the WFSU Membership Manager and is responsible for managing fundraising campaigns in the WFSU membership department.

Creates annual plan for membership campaigns to create integrated fundraising strategies with an emphasis on sustainers. Combines efforts from direct mail, monthly renewals, and pledge drives into cohesive campaigns with unified messaging. Enhances the campaigns with additional messaging across mail and electronic platforms. Tracks campaign progress and evaluates outcomes to develop strategies for improvement.

Plans, organizes and implements pledge drives. Coordinates volunteer activities, and develops the staffing plan for the on-air volunteers. Develops and produces on-air scripts and trains the on-air volunteer announcers in speaking and message delivery. Is prepared to go on-air to deliver pledge drive messaging whenever necessary. Coordinates premium, and program information for FM and TV pledge drives and produces industry reports for each drive.

Manages member correspondence and benefits including monthly renewals, twice-weekly thank yous, premium distribution, and MemberCard inventory and distribution. Investigates, recommends, and implements changes regarding current and lapsed members. Manages inventory of print supplies and premiums.

Develops opportunities to enhance sustainer engagement. Develops fundraising strategies for TV pledge drive sustainers. Coordinates on-air and electronic messaging to support existing pledge programs as well as alternative fundraising opportunities.

Manages monthly processes for the department. Generates reports to analyze membership data trends. Analyzes data to recommend and implement strategies to maximize fundraising efforts.

Coordinates electronic communications for WFSU Membership. Develops content and produces weekly e-newsletter. Develops social media engagement opportunities to enhance fundraising results. Designs and implements WFSU.org donation webpages including special pledge related pages.

Works with membership team to plan, promote, and execute membership department events. Manages facilities, catering arrangements, and event activities. Assists with other development events as needed.

Serves as backup to other Membership Department employees. Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a high school diploma/equivalency and eight years of experience related to the duties of this position.

(Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

Experience documenting information in a non-profit or customer database program.

Ability to establish and maintain alumni and donor relations.

Experience with donation collection/handing monetary transactions.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Experience with applicable computer software and operating systems to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Preferred

Experience with fundraising and development for a non-profit entity.
Ability to coordinate, organize, and evaluate meetings and/or events.

Soft Money Funded Position

This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.
