Job Description:

Data Analysis: Collaborate with faculty and staff to coordinate and support research projects and grants in the Center for Public Issues Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (the PIE Center). This research work includes: • Managing quantitative and qualitative data collection, monitoring data quality, cleaning and organizing data, and conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis procedures. • Supporting the development and implementation of research grant projects and activities. Suggest research approaches and procedures for grants and future projects, based on target audiences. • Establishing a strong working relationship with interdisciplinary faculty across the University of Florida, Extension faculty and external research partners.

Publications: • Creating publication worthy graphics as appropriate. • Writing comprehensive research reports. • Working with faculty and staff to prepare and deliver research presentations based on research conducted by Center personnel and obtained from other sources. • Working with faculty to prepare journal articles based on research conducted by the Center.

Collaborate with Center faculty and staff in developing and disseminating educational materials resulting from research in print and electronic format for various target audiences.

In consultation with the Center Director and other faculty, work with the Center media specialist to generate research content for the Center website.

Recommend policies and procedures for designing and conducting research programs. Participate in Center meetings and assist with other projects as directed.

Search for, write grants, or co-write major grants. Employee will oversee most of the research conducted by graduate students in the Public Issues Education (PIE) Center grants.

Expected Salary:

$51,500.00 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants should have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders. A strong understanding of research principles, including the use of SPSS and Excel, survey development, interview and moderator guide development, management of datasets, descriptive and inferential statistics, qualitative data analysis methods, and the ability to make inferences from data is expected. A working knowledge of grant structure and management, as well as teaching and learning principles, is also important. Fundamental understanding of marketing principles and applications for this particular program is desirable.
