Working within the Division of Internship & Career Planning, the Recruiter supports the strategic goals of the division by providing oversight to daily and term driven recruitment initiatives to attract and engage students to the Division. The Recruiter must possess strong oral and written communication skills to promote the mission of Rowan College of South Jersey in a variety of forums and to a diverse group of students and employers.Examples of Duties
Provides oversight to processing of students with utilization of technology to recruit students utilizing print, email, phone and social media campaigns. Prepares materials for distribution as needed.Provides information and assistance to students and assists with the filing of various forms and student records. Works with students regarding career development, resume preparation, and interview skills.Assists in the process of marketing various programs and events for the division.Manages and responds to inquiries and requests which are generated via the division website in addition to social media platforms, and online appointments. Schedules appointments, as needed.Effectively communicates resources, opportunities, and benefits, both in and outside the classroom (virtual classrooms included).Assists with recruiting employers and coordinating employer interviews and career advisement sessions for students. Maintains outreach spreadsheet of recruitment events and populates the google online calendar for all recruitment events.Assists with the coordination of Open Houses, College Fairs, Employer Networking opportunities and a variety of recruitment events conducted on and off campus.Performs other duties, as assigned.Minimum QualificationsAssociate degree or 60+ college credits required.Experience working in higher education, preferably within recruitment.
Demonstrated ability to communicate RCSJ’s programs in an articulate and effective manner to individual students and large groups.Ability to innovate and create processes and communication plans reaching diverse student populationsHighly proficient with Microsoft Office suiteExperience with Banner Student Module and virtual meeting software (Teams, Zoom,etc.)Ability to work a flexible schedule with varied hours to meet department and College needsAbility to travel to multiple educational institutions, utilizing personal vehicle for travelPossess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partners in large and small settings. Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff and a commitment to a student-centered environment.
