Professional post-award research administration position within the Office of Sponsored Programs.
This position administers grants awarded to the University, including providing analytical oversight, fulfilling compliance requirements, and performing post-award accounting for grants and contracts.
Must be able to adhere to strict deadlines on invoicing, financial reporting, and other related activities involved in the management of grants and contracts.
Must have strong customer service skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. This position works closely with staff in other departments, stays abreast of new regulations and guidance from sponsoring agencies, researches and resolves problems, and proactively ensures grant and contracts administration complies with institutional policies and procedures.
Must be able to effectively communicate information to faculty and staff related to grants and contracts activities. Ability to perform as a self-starter with high-level initiative, strong work ethic, and good organization skills are a must. Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills are required as well as the ability to multi-task and manage a high volume of e-mail in a deadline-driven environment.
The ideal candidate will play an instrumental role in the success of sustaining the department’s research mission and goals.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the review and management of post-award funding.
- Directs faculty and departmental staff in grant/contract management, including budget review and expenditures; identify errors.
- Prepares quarterly/monthly grant and contract financial reports that are used both internally and externally.
- Maintain proper documentation of all post-award accounting revenues and expenses.
- Complete timely sponsor financial reporting.
- Create and process PCEs, CRRs, ARRs, Deposits, and provide customer support.
- Communicate with internal and external parties as required.
