Job responsibilities include:

Recruit and enroll child care programs to participate in the Be Well Care Well program. Maintain relationships with enrolled child care programs and provide coaching, training and referrals to support implementation of well-being goals through regular on-site visits.

Communicate with individuals participating in the Be Well Care Well program to understand personal well-being goals and use counseling and coaching principles to support positive behavior change.

Make connections with local resources. Build and negotiate partnerships with wellness service providers in the community on behalf of participating child care programs to facilitate child care providers’ access to well-being supports.

Analyze assessment data to identify local program priorities. Identify and develop instructional materials relevant to child care populations in topics related to well-being goals. Track, document and report activities in a timely manner.

Promote Be Well Care Well in the local child care community. Provide resources that support provider well-being during meetings and through social media.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Master’s degree and 3 years training and development experience, or bachelor’s degree and 5 years training and development experience.


Coaches must be able to build effective relationships with diverse populations and communicate successfully, both orally and in writing. Candidate will work independently, must maintain accountability records, and contribute to project team efforts. Knowledge of principles, practices and theories of public health, health promotion and behavior change. Ability to work with a computer using Office software and knowledge of techniques involved in the preparation and presentation of educational visual aids, displays and exhibits. Ability to design and deliver presentations with sensitivity to learner characteristics. Ability to generate ideas and confront barriers with creativity and flexibility. Demonstrated skills in MS Office Suite and Google Docs. Social Media experience a plus.
