Job Description:

The Instructor of Physics and Physical Sciences will teach a full-time load of 15 credit hours during both the fall and spring semesters, consisting of foundational Physics and Physical Sciences lecture and laboratory courses such as College Physics and Engineering Physics, as well as courses for non-science majors.  The incumbent will be an integral part of the Physical Sciences Department and participate in assessment, as well as contribute to departmental and college activities and initiatives that support the college mission.


Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master's degree in Physics and a minimum of one year of college-level teaching experience.  All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  At least two years of college-level teaching experience, preferably at the community college level preferred.  Experience in teaching a wide range of Physics and Physical Sciences classes strongly preferred.  Experience in successful utilization of classroom technology also strongly preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $64,841 plus excellent benefits.
