The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology is dedicated to the discovery, development, and promotion of biomedical knowledge involving cell biology and the anatomical sciences of human gross anatomy, developmental anatomy, neuroanatomy, and histology. Through this mission, we aim to improve human health through innovative educational programs and excellence in research and scholarly activities in a dynamic and diverse learning community.Job Duties :
The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University (ECU) is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Tenure track or fixed term appointment available. The new faculty member recruited to this position will contribute to and enhance the departmental education mission, primarily in human gross anatomy, with responsibility for teaching a variety of professional students. In addition, this new faculty member will contribute to departmental research and participate in training of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
The rank and distribution of activities in teaching, research and service will depend upon the qualifications and previous teaching and research experience of the individual recruited to the position. The faculty member will have the opportunity for participation in collaborative intradepartmental and interdepartmental research activities. Appropriate professional service (i.e., serving on department, school, or university committees and/or task forces) is expected.Minimum Education/Experience :
The applicant must have a Ph.D., D.Sc., or D.Phil. degree from an appropriately accredited institution in anatomy or a closely related field and significant experience, interest, and enthusiasm toward teaching in the basic human anatomical disciplines.
