Job Description:


The Department of Romance Languages at Binghamton University is seeking to hire two lecturers in Spanish, beginning in August 2021. These are full-time positions (three-year contracts) with possible renewal. The teaching load is three courses per semester with the option to teach online during the winter and summer interterms for additional compensation.


The department seeks an energetic candidate who possesses an interest and/or experience in collaborating with colleagues in the enhancement of programs as well as in advising students and supervising extracurricular organizations and activities.


Moreover, the selected candidate should actively contribute to the University's mission of advancing a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion through research, teaching, mentoring, and service, as well as through engagement with faculty, students, and staff.



Requirements:


Candidates should hold an MA or PhD (or be ABD) in Spanish or related fields such as Comparative Literature or Translation, and be prepared to successfully teach language courses at all levels of the curriculum. Experts in all fields are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with strong evidence of excellence in language teaching at the university level. Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English.
