We are currently seeking a Lab Assistant II who will advance the institution’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service. The Opportunity You: If you’ve got a can-do attitude, enjoy working with people and can set up a variety of electronic, A/V and computer equipment, we’re looking for you. Your mission: In this role, you’ll provide technological and instructional technical support and training to instructors, as needed, on the use of equipment, software and digital resources. Your work: You’ll be assisting the English instructors in the lab in a variety of ways, from creating and maintaining web pages to installing and setting up computer, audio/visual or electronic equipment, and from managing inventory to recommending updates to equipment and software. You’ll also perform a support role in lab operations by duplicating instructional materials, answering phone calls, screening visitors and processing videotape distribution and returns. In addition, you’ll maintain and perform basic minor repairs and upgrades to lab equipment, and order parts as needed. EDUCATION
High school degree or GED required.

EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years experience in general office, electronic and/or audio/visual equipment set-up and maintenance, or related computer hardware area, required. Three (3) years experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to receive, organize, maintain, test, and setup electronic parts and computer hardware supplies

Familiarity with computer hardware setup, software configuration, and testing of related electronic, audio/visual equipment Proficiency in Word processing, spreadsheet and web page applications

Good written and oral communication skills

Good organizational skills

Proficiency in basic set-up of variety of equipment (electronic, audio/visual, computers)

EDUCATION
High school degree or GED required.
