Job Description Summary

The person in this position will design and execute experiments for their independent project as well as assist and support other members of the lab on other projects. They will be required to think independently, resolve issues that arise and initiate new processes to perform duties more efficiently. Duties include cell culture and generation of CAR-Tcells; experimental design and analysis; RNA and/or DNA isolation; genotyping of mouse DNA using PCR, and gel electrophoresis; preparation of tissues and cell culture samples for protein and metabolite quantification.

Job Description

This position is contingent upon favorable funding.

Skilled laboratory technicians that works with complex systems or perform highly technical mechanical or diagnostic tests in medical or scientific laboratories. Assists the laboratory manager to perform complex laboratory maintenance tasks and other laboratory projects, as assigned. Will assists senior level researchers on various supervised research projects within the lab. The technician will carry out routine tasks such as preparation of media and reagents, place orders for supplies, help maintain inventory and place lab equipment in their designated areas at the end of the day. He/she will gather data from experiments, complete data entry and analyze data in collaboration with Principal Investigators and postdoctoral researchers - with the intent of presenting research results in laboratory meetings.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Required, with 0-1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions
Office, library, computer room; Requires extensive safety training; Requires protective devices

Physical Effort
Typically sitting at a desk or table; Occasional lifting 25 lb.
