Department Summary:

The University of North Texas Foundation, Inc. is not part of the UNT System but serves as the University of North Texas’ strategic partner in managing and growing private assets through investment management and administration of endowments and planned gifts to support the University’s mission.

Position Summary:

This is a Part-Time accounting clerical position which works with diversified financial documents, accounts and records. Work involves applying technical bookkeeping and basic accounting practices and controls to a variety of financial transactions. Working under general supervision, an employee in this position exercises decision-making and judgment within the assigned area of responsibility.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•Participates in the preparation, processing, and checking of accounting documents, credit card transactions, and miscellaneous other gifts
•Analyzes accounting data, reports and transactions for accuracy and implements corrective actions as needed
•Maintains detailed reports and records of accounting data
•Works with the data entry and retrieval process utilizing the scanning system
•Assists with completion of special projects and assignments
•Performs related duties as directed

Minimum Qualifications:

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in accounting clerical or bookkeeping work; graduation from high school, preferably including or supplemented by courses in bookkeeping or accounting; college-level accounting coursework preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

•Knowledge of bookkeeping theory, principles and practices and Microsoft office products
•Knowledge of office methods, machines and practices, including the use of automated information systems
•Ability to communicate effectively and to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Work Schedule:

Availability to work 20-25 hours per week, preferably between 9 am and 2 pm. Hours may have some flexibility.
