Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

Assistants will help with potato and sugar beet pathology research experiments located in the greenhouse and field. During the summer, most of the work is outdoors and includes: setting up research trials, monitoring fields for insects, diseases, and other pests, maintaining field trials, data collection, pesticide handling, and pesticide application. Assistants may also assist with greenhouse experiments and office work, including data entry. Assistants will operate laboratory or experimental equipment, perform experiments, do laboratory tests and learn various techniques.

Desired Qualifications

Previous field work experience is helpful, however all individuals with a good work ethic are welcome to apply.
