Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.
Unit Position SummaryThe successful candidate will work on animal patients; monitors temperature, pulse and respiration; monitors IV fluid administration; will walk animals outside; will clean ward areas, stock supplies; will process lab samples and medication orders; enters charges in the hospital information system; assists clinicians, veterinary technicians and clinical students with animal patients in the Emergency and Critical Care Unit of the Veterinary Medical Center.
Desired QualificationsExperience with general handling of cats and dogs; knowledge of animal restraint for blood collection and IV catheter placement; positioning for X-rays and IV fluid monitoring; previous exposure to monitoring equipment such as IV fluid pumps, EKG, Pulse oximeter and Doppler blood pressure.
