Duties and Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving has responsibility for helping to execute developing and implementing a University-wide multi-channeled communications program; developing strategic plans for donor acquisition, renewals and upgrades; implementing direct response marketing strategies and best practices; analyzing and communicating results and identifying and implementing opportunities to improve program performance; conducting market research and donor models; and collaboratively executing new program opportunities.

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving ensures that activities and data are consistent, supportive of the University’s messaging and marketing strategy, and that the data reflects specific segmentation and direct response marketing strategies.

•Execute a direct marketing program to maximize annual giving revenue using direct mail, email, social media, and other communications in coordination with the campus Phonathon program.
•Collaborate with Director, Annual Giving to create short- and long-term plans, identify desired outcomes and benchmark criteria with peer and aspirational institutions.
•For schools and programs primarily supported by the Central Annual Giving team, provide detailed campaign reports to Director of Annual Giving to demonstrate results and outcomes
•Track and maintain solicitation calendar and production schedule of direct mail and online programs.
•Manage program to ensure all work is completed with timeliness, quality/accuracy and cost-efficiency of mailings.
•Monitor and report on performance of mailings and budget and make adjustments as necessary.
•Monitor and develop reporting for all annual giving campaigns, making sure to track key performance indicators as they relate to University priorities and Division Wide Metrics
•Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s desirable.
Minimum of two years of writing/editing experience required.
Proven track record of development and management experience.
Successful fundraising and alumni cultivation is needed.
Three to five years of successful relationship building and/or fundraising experience preferred.

Qualifications:

• Experience with annual fund direct marketing program execution and
fundraising techniques.
•Experience in messaging and market segmentation analysis and strategy formulation to increase the volume of direct annual giving mail and online solicitations and communications.
•Experience executing email solicitations, online communications and technologies.
•Experience executing multi-channeled fundraising and engagement campaigns
•Experience managing and coordinating multiple interactions and conversations and accurately articulate and record the results
•Possess initiative, is detail-oriented, and efficient.
•Exhibits strong organization, written and verbal communication skills.
•Active listening skills, including advanced critical thinking and analytical skills.
•Resourceful, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and is aligned with the mission of Loyola University Chicago, its culture, people, and programs.
•Must be able to determine goals, set priorities, and execute within the context of departmental and division goals and strategic plans.
•Availability to work some evenings and weekends.
•Ability to remain flexible in fast-paced, high-pressured environment.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities, strict deadlines, and complex work while maintaining a professional and customer service oriented demeanor. Must have an understanding of and commitment to the importance of higher education.
•Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
•Ability to analyze data and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to uncover trends in large data sets.
