Minimum Experience/Education:

Faculty teaching undergraduate courses: doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education::

Applicants should have experience, skills/ competences in teaching
(1) Afro-Latin American History
exploring the African Diaspora in Latin America ranging from the Caribbean Sea to the Rio de la Plata. From slavery, to fighting for freedom in the Spanish-American Wars of Independence, to forging new notions of citizenship in twentieth century Brazil
(2) Race in the History of Brazil
Examining the history of Brazil since Portuguese colonization, this course focuses on experiences, struggles, and debates revolving around questions of race and identity.
(3) Other Topics in Africana Studies

Duties and Responsibilities:

UNC Charlotte is accepting applications for adjunct or part-time faculty. These positions are temporary and usually involve teaching a particular course or courses for a particular semester. These positions are temporary and do not accrue benefits.

Responsibilities could include: Developing and/or updating course syllabus, preparation of lectures, projects, or other student assignments, meeting all designated class periods, maintaining regularly scheduled office hours, grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner, submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
