Job Summary/Basic Function:

RESIDENTIAL faculty position***

Teach residential applied voice lessons to undergraduate and graduate music majors. Teach other classes (group voice, vocal techniques, etc.) as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• MM degree
• Experience teaching voice majors at the college level in a variety of styles, including commercial music styles
• Demonstrated proficiency as a commercial music performing artist
• Experience in creating vocal arrangements to showcase private voice student’s strength in commercial styles
• Fluent piano accompaniment skills reading charts/Nashville Numbers
• Demonstrated ability in teaching belt singing technique

Preferred Qualifications:

• DMA/PhD or demonstrated professional equivalent
• Extensive experience teaching voice majors at the college level, including demonstrated success placing students in master’s or doctoral programs, or student achievement in competitions or professional work environments
• Teaching experience in vocal courses such as vocal pedagogy, class voice, jazz/commercial small ensembles, etc.
• Experience teaching techniques for vocalists in studio settings
• Demonstrated proficiency as a commercial music performing artist
• Experience in creating vocal arrangements to showcase student’s strength in commercial styles
• Fluent piano accompaniment skills reading charts/Nashville Numbers
• Demonstrated ability in teaching and modeling belt singing technique

Work Hours:

10 month contract
