Postdoctoral Scholar - Yokomori Lab
Job description
University of California Irvine
Postdoctoral Scholar - Yokomori Lab
The Yokomori Laboratory in Biological Chemistry is looking for a Postdoctoral Scholar with excellent science and mathematical skills to participate in cutting-edge genome-wide sequencing and in situ analyses of DNA damage, repair, histone modification changes, and 3D chromatin interaction dynamics in human cells.
Perturbation of DNA repair or checkpoint functions causes accumulation of mutations and genomic instability, which is critically linked to developmental abnormality, premature aging and cancer. In this NSF-funded project, we will investigate metabolic and epigenetic responses to DNA damage and their roles in maintenance of genome integrity and cell survival. Our major goal is to understand the in vivo DNA damage response (DDR) and repair processes in the context of chromatin, nuclear architecture, and the whole cell, in human cells. Initial appointment is for at least one year with potential extension and/or renewal based on work performance and availability of funding support. Ph.D. or an equivalent degree is required.
Qualified candidates should submit curriculum vitae along with the names and contact information of three references to the following recruitment URL:
