Job Description Summary
This position will primarily involve SARS CoV2 genome sequencing of local circulating strains, from extracting RNA, amplifying genomes and sequencing with Illumina technology. Additionally, the position will involve tracking the genomic integration sites of viral vectors in various projects and monitoring off-target cleavage activity in crispr-mediated genome editing. This job requires advanced molecular biology techniques and DNA library preparation and sequencing. The specialist will required to design experiments and analyze results independently. They will also be responsible for training staff on approved protocols, and completing administrative duties.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 1-3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
Position contingent upon funding
The job pay range encompasses the full range of employees from new hires to the salaries of Penn employees with many years of experience and seniority and is not a precise indicator of salaries of new hires when looking at the top end.
