Job Description Summary
Information Systems & Computing (ISC) is the University of Pennsylvania's central IT organization, providing infrastructure and services upon which Penn's numerous Schools and Centers build their unique tools and capabilities. Technology Services provides systems engineering, operations, networking, telecommunications, and collaboration services for use by the global University community.

Working as a member of the Unified Communications Services team in ISC Technology Services to provide essential technical support and customer service for a variety of unified communications (UC) related services. The purpose of this position is to help to identify opportunities, increase the visibility and support for new and expanding IT collaboration services and to ensure services are managed reliably, efficiently and continue to support the mission and business needs of ISC and the University. Communicate with vendors to submit feature requests, support tickets, and to keep informed about product roadmaps. This position will assist the UC Services Manager in supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of one or more collaboration services across Technology Services and ISC units. Collaborate with staff from other ISC departments and with Local Support Providers to maintain and improve the UC service portfolio.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Primary technical contact for a collaborative set of UC tools (Zoom, Panopto, 3PlayMedia, Slack).
  • Maintain lifecycle management of a portfolio of collaboration services that align with ISC's strategic purpose and values. Service management operation of these services as they exist today and provide strategic direction for the future.
  • Supports team efforts in the collaboration with ISC Technology Services colleagues to develop and implement UC service strategies and implementation plans to align with the rest of ISC's goals and services.
  • Backup support for other UC services (listserv, Box.com).
  • Maintain technical knowledge, an understanding of industry best practices, and market trends in the areas of Unified Communications services technologies.
  • Help define and support future UC services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of experience in related application or functional area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Candidate must have:
  • Significant experience working with a variety of collaboration tools and web-based applications.
  • Strong computer skills and a basic understanding of IP networking concepts is required.
  • Proven track record in troubleshooting a wide variety of problems, sometimes with limited background knowledge.
  • Strong customer service focus and excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Basic understanding of voice and video technology strongly preferred.
  • General experience with video conferencing, lecture capture, or captioning solutions are a plus.
  • Specific experience with Zoom, Canvas, Panopto, PureConnect, Slack, or YouTube video streaming are a plus.
