Location: Baker College System Headquarters
Compensation: Compensation based on education and existing rates for similar positions within Baker College Professional Services, Inc.
Start Date: March 2021

Reports To: Director, EAS
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Baker College Professional Services, Inc. seeks to hire an individual to be assigned to the position of MANAGER, INSTITUTIONAL REPORTING & DATA ANALYTICS (FULL-TIME) for the benefit of and to be located at Baker College System Headquarters.

General Statement of Duties:

The primary role of the Manager, Institutional Reporting & Data Analytics is to provide technical leadership and support for data-centric programming and mining, report writing, research and statistical analysis to facilitate a culture of data-informed decision-making. This role will ensure the timely development of institutional reports and dashboards that are mission critical and fit the users' needs. Manage requirement gathering, design, testing, implementation, and ongoing management of Reporting Services. The Manager, Institutional Reporting & Data Analytics will maintain a leadership role in the office to help promote efficiency and understanding in all areas of report development among the team members and have a clear understanding of the relationships among Baker College departments.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Effectively lead business analysis activities to gather required reporting and dashboard requirements
  • Effectively translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required institutional reports and dashboards, created from potentially multiple data sources
  • Effectively communicates with customers and outside departments
  • Provide support as required to ensure the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboardsfor both external and internal users
  • Understands departmental business rules and relationships
  • Design, test and implement internal reports to meet user requirements
  • Design, test and implement external reports to meet data reporting needs
  • Design, test and implement dashboards to meet data analytic requirements
  • Effectively Adhere to Institutional Reporting development standards and best practices
  • Demonstrates genuine concern with overall development quality
  • Collect, validate, process, and report institutional data
  • Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  • Provide technical assistance and cross training to other team members
  • Provide training and assistance to end users for generation of adhoc reports
  • Directly participate in the implementation and support of a data warehouse
  • Must be able to perform duties with moderate to low supervision
  • Managing development requests and tracking due dates
  • Effectively communicate with all members of the Enterprise Application Services (EAS) division
  • Effectively lead, develop, and manage employees on the Institutional Reporting team
  • Other duties as assigned
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Information Technology or related discipline
  • Minimum two years experience with Data Analytics required
  • Minimum of two years experience within the higher education industry preferred
  • Knowledge of Google Applications, Microsoft Office products, Qualtrics, Cognos, SQL, and Business Intelligence Software
  • Experience with Data Analytic Tools including Power BI
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and external sources
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in computer skills, which allows for the use of computer related technology
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business requirements and reports
  • Ability to write reports and dashboards from Enterprise databases
  • Possess a strong understanding of database relationships
  • Ability to manage employees
