Job Description:

Provide window services and operate cash register to sell US postage stamps and money orders, and meter packages for the U.S. Postal Service

• Ensure high quality customer service at all times; maintain excellent communications and customer relations with all departments and customers

Close-out cash register daily; reconcile funds and stamps; prepare daily deposit for USPS and related reports

Receive and sort mail for University of Florida departments at the assigned Business Services mail facility

• Ensure efficient rerouting of misdirected mail via directory services; maintain current knowledge of campus organizational and personnel changes

• Responsible for maintaining and finding ways to improve efficiencies; make recommendations for changes to supervisor as needed

• Track accountable mail using the SC Logic System

Assist customers at the copy center at the assigned location

• Operate copiers and cash register; provide report of copies run and money collected when assigned to the copy center

• Provide notary services

Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of and ensuring compliance with appropriate guidelines in the following areas:

• Mail and package handling techniques and procedures, including departmental and university policies and procedures

• University of Florida and U.S. Postal Service guidelines for proper handling of hazardous materials that may be received through the mail

• State of Florida and UF traffic regulations

Develop reports, handle special projects and other duties as assigned

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.

A Criminal Background check and post offer health assessment will be conducted.

As part of the post offer health assessment, the incumbent will be required to satisfactorily complete the University’s COVID-19 screening process. The screening includes a questionnaire and the option to participate in the UF COVIS-19 nasal swab testing.

Expected Salary:

$16.00 Hourly

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
