Job Description:

Leads and conducts field and laboratory work to complete research project tasks that need the use of new techniques and specialized equipment related to hydrology and water resources engineering research.

Coordinates the work of multidisciplinary teams to complete projects related to hydrology and water resources engineering research.

Reviews design reports, plans, research proposals, and manuscripts that may require the use of new data analysis techniques or methodology.

Trains, instructs others on the use and operation of highly specialized equipment, research methodology or technology.

Stays current on new technologies, emerging techniques, software programs, and instrumentation in the field of expertise.

Services, calibrates and checks specialized equipment for proper function.

Maintains compliance with Environmental Health and Safety and other institutional and governmental regulations.

Design and maintain interactive websites.

Advertised Salary:

$44,700 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience.

Valid Florida driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in natural sciences, hydrology, general agriculture or closely related fields; or a Master’s in natural sciences, hydrology, general agriculture or closely related fields with one year of experience;

Experience that equipped the applicant with knowledge of hydrology, irrigation, and soil and water sampling methods; ability to learn new skills on the use of specialized and emerging technologies; ability to operate and maintain hydrologic sampling and instrumentation; ability to collect, analyze and summarize data and use computer software packages; ability to design and create websites; ability to perform literature reviews; ability to coordinate a group to perform research tasks; ability to instruct others on operation of lab and field equipment; ability to review and contribute to research proposals and manuscripts. Machines and equipment used regularly are computer, field data logger, and sensors, soil physics equipment, soil sampling equipment.
