Job Description:

Courier Services: Provides daily delivery of client supplies and pick-up of specimens and ensures all samples are handled, stored and transported at proper temperatures (ambient, refrigerated & frozen) following all department safety and OSHA guidelines. Ensures all clients are receiving result reports, supplies and satisfaction of service with each and every stop.

Maintains assigned vehicle in proper working condition assuring all maintenance, safety and required equipment are compliant with department guidelines. Provide and/or arranges for appropriate maintenance of department vehicle(s) and coordinates for coverage or back up vehicle. Create and maintain routing program with up to date client, address and stop requirements as new clients use our services. Create and maintain database (excel spreadsheet) of stops, mileage, start and end times.

Client Reports:
Answers incoming phone calls in a pleasant, professional manner. Understands all aspects of the telephone communication system and its operation. Representative will access laboratory database and communicate with clients regarding case status, specimen handling requirements, fees, insurance and other information. Documents all incoming calls from clients and resolution of calls. Assists in accessing reports for tracking TAT of cases. Communicates with pathologists on call from client inquiry on cases.

Work closely and amicably with laboratory and clerical personnel in resolving status problems, and maintain appropriate documentation of all client service encounters. Must understand the laboratory workflow and how to access the information systems for the purpose of researching, troubleshooting and following up on specimen related problems. The representative must keep updated on testing procedures and specimen requirements.

Client Requests:

Works with clients to ensure that they receive high quality service. This includes preparing supplies & patient reports for delivery to clients. Representative will properly queue requests for courier services to customers and be able to arrange emergency service and pick-up specimens when necessary. Will be familiar with courier vehicle and routes for specimen pickups when/if needed. Fills client supply orders on a daily basis and meets a 24 hours turn-around on consumables and 48 hours for printed material.

As directed by manager, assists new hire training, safety, policy and procedures.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Florida driver's license with good driving record. Ability to work varying shifts including some weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

This position will work a flexible/variable schedule and serve the Jacksonville area with daily trips to Gainesville, FL. Some weekends required.

Previous courier experience

Good verbal and written communication skills strongly

Knowledge of medical terminology a plus
