Position Summary:

*This person will supervise appropriate shift operations and monitor conditions of all campus facilities.

*37.5 hours per week

Abilities and Skills:

*Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. (Minimum)
*Ability to manage and supervise all facilities personnel as assigned. (Minimum)
*Knowledge of proper use of chemicals used in cleaning applications. (Minimum)
*Extensive knowledge and understanding of facilities related equipment, and the ability to supervise others in the safe operation of this equipment. (Minimum)
*Working knowledge of computer applications such as college web based programs and Microsoft Office. (Minimum)
*Familiarity with procedures for training of all facilities personnel. (Minimum)
*Familiarity with current trends in the facilities management field. (Desired)
*Ability to oversee all building functions (Desired)
*Possession of a valid driver’s license. (Minimum)
*Developed organizational skills. (Minimum)
*Ability to coordinate efficient operations across multiple shifts. (Minimum)
*Ability to deal with confidential material and maintain its confidentiality. (Minimum)


*High School diploma or equivalent (Minimum)


*Three (3) years of demonstrated experience supervising staff, and coordinating/prioritizing assignments. (Minimum)
*Experience in custodial operations. (Minimum)
*Experience in grounds and maintenance operations. (Desired)

Responsibilities and Duties :

-Supervise facilities staff in the performance of their duties. (Essential)
-Inspect the physical conditions of all buildings and areas on a regular basis. (Essential)
-Oversee trainings and evaluation of facilities staff in area of responsibility. (Essential)
-Ensure that facilities staff are maintaining the prescribed shift schedule including proper arrival time, breaks and lunch periods, and end time. (Essential)
-Ensure all processes and compliance programs are met. (Essential)
-Maintain a safe work environment for all facilities personnel. (Essential)
-Resolve personnel and work problems as appropriate and inform Director of resolution; refer unresolved and difficult problems to the Director for resolution. (Essential)
-Communicate regularly with Director regarding interviewing and hiring recommendations and when identified trainings are needed. (Essential)
-Evaluate equipment and make recommendation to the Director for repairs and/or replacement for annual budget. (Essential)
-Maintain active equipment inventory, document repairs and submit preventive maintenance on the same. (Essential)
-Submit corrective work orders as necessary. (Essential)
-Ensure frequent meetings are held with staff. (Essential)
-Provide regular performance feedback to employees and complete annual evaluations. (Essential)
-Perform routine area inspections for all of their staff and working on areas of deficiency. (Essential)
-Manage workflow between areas and buildings as the need arise, planning work assignments to insure adequate service. (Essential)
-Plan and coordinate work efforts with other Facilities Managers, Maintenance Managers, Grounds Managers and Directors. (Essential)
-Plan and coordinate event needs and furniture relocations; direct employees with regards to proper set-up and removal. (Essential)
-Ensure proper time keeping procedures are used and attendance records maintained. (Essential)
-Evaluate areas of coverage and staffing needs and make recommendations to Director. (Essential)
-Evaluate products and equipment and make recommendations to Director. (Essential)
-Ensure staff are following proper procedures outlined in the employee handbook. (Essential)


*Requisite tools of the trade.

Physical Standards:

*Exposure to harsh chemicals and dust.
*Some heavy lifting and pushing not to exceed 65 lbs. may be required.

Special Job Features:

*Work schedule to be determined based on the needs of the department and may differ during the summer or during special events.
*May be required to attend meetings during regular College hours.
*Frequent travel to all campus facilities will be required.
*Will be required to respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis.
*Hours beyond the normal schedule will be necessary at the discretion of the Director(s).
*State Police, Child Line, and FBI fingerprint clearances under the Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) required before employment can begin.
*Background check will be required on selected candidate.

As such, are required to use the following elements of the Learning Management System (LMS): Upload all syllabi, timely use of the grade feature, and collection of digital student work and distribution of digital course materials.

Commensurate with credentials submitted as applied to the College’s Administrative, Professional and Technical Staff Salary System.
