SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

To coordinate all aspects of clinical education (pre-internship and internship) on the Flagler- Tallahassee campus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


• Set practicum sites for all students (approx 90 students per semester)
• Assign day and evening students to practicum sites ensuring that DOE requirements regarding diversity
• Present practicum orientation to all students
• Visit practicum sites – especially for evening students on a weekly basis
• Coordinate formal observations of all Block 3 (day and evening) students and counsel as warranted
• Coordinate faculty visitations to schools during full weeks
• Troubleshoot practicum placements and student performance
• Oversee distribution of all information to cooperating teachers (Mailings: information and assessments
• Work with Leon, Gadsden, Wakulla, Liberty, Taylor, and Jefferson County to secure intern and practicum placements
• Distribute practicum evaluations (electronically) to the cooperating teachers. Distribute the evaluations to the practicum students.
• Maintain intern applications
• Create and distribute calendars, evaluation forms, etc. to college supervisors and cooperating teachers
• Assign college supervisors for interns and conduct orientation on a semester-by-semester basis
• Assist College Supervisors with any concerns that might arise and consult with the Department Chair
• Coordinate Level 2 Clearance for preservice teachers and maintain appropriate records
• Ensure that Flagler College faculty have required Level 2 Clearance and updated information
• Update and publish the Student Teaching Handbook on a yearly basis
• Teach Professional Development and Internship Seminars
• Develop and Maintain strong institutional relationships with area school districts

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree
• Classroom teaching experience
• College supervisory experience
• Strong people skills and ability to interface effectively with district and school administrators, school faculty, College faculty and staff, and students
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exhibit good judgment in making decisions consistent with College policy
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office, Zoom, and course technology platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completed updated Clinical Educator Training (Clinical Education Facilitator Academy)

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


• Must be able to lift and move files
• Must be able to lift 5 lb – 10 lb boxes
• Must be able to perform data entry
• Ability to access multi-storied buildings and multiple-level staircases
