The South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina is hiring! We invite applications for a Digital Communications Coordinator.

We are seeking a positive and energetic person who has excellent written and oral communication skills. Under the guidance of the Communications Director, the Digital Communications Coordinator supports the college communications plan by sharing the messaging and news of the South Carolina Honors College to multiple audiences through numerous digital platforms. This position will be responsible for implementing components of the strategic communications plan via the college website, student newsletter and email communications, social media and digital displays. The Digital Communications Coordinator will write, edit, design and disseminate information, as well as work with others engaged in similar activities. The incumbent will be responsible for the college website, including routine updates, creating new pages and content, creating and imbedding forms, and monitoring and improving SEO.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material, communications and/or design.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Applicants must have the ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The successful candidate will be well organized, have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to deal diplomatically with various constituent groups and have advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Exceptional writing and communication skills, including ability to tell a compelling story with a command of grammar and AP style. Excellent interpersonal and speaking skills, both in person and by phone, with a high level of professionalism. Advanced knowledge of social media, including best practices for engaging audiences in a professional context on each platform. Some knowledge of USC policies, procedures, and programs is preferred.
