Description
The Research Scientist II will assist Dr. Shawn Dotson in day-to-day management of the laboratory and in particular in the application of all routine biochemical and molecular biological techniques including mammalian tissue culture, to further the study of the roles of specific genes and proteins in chemosensory function. 

The Research Scientist II will demonstrate a solid background knowledge of molecular biology techniques as they relate to sensory system research and an ability to interact and work in a collaborative team environment as well as help with funding initiatives and publications.  The Research Scientist II will also be required to work with and handle laboratory animals and a variety of hazardous materials.

 

Basic qualifications:

Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and three years of experience in a neuroscience-related field (sensory research preferred). Experience leading/managing an independent research group a plus. 

Qualifications
Ph.D. and five years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
