JOB OVERVIEW:

Provide a broad and variable range of client intake duties for the clinical unit of Children’s Advocacy Services of Greater St. Louis. Assist administrators in the completion of ongoing work or projects. Tasks typically include the following: client/caregiver interaction; interfacing with legal custodians for service coordination; working with multi-disciplinary staff; accommodating scheduling needs for varied grants and services; training and supervising intake staff and students; facilitating area-wide coalition of child mental health service coordinators; and correspondence and document preparation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete telephone intakes with legal custodians of referred clients in order to determine if the client is appropriate for services at CASGSL
  • Respond to client needs, crises, and emergencies (utilizing clinical consultation as appropriate)
  • Secure appropriate consent forms and releases for clients in Children’s Division custody
  • Obtain information from clients, including the presenting problem, in order to complete intakeprocess and/or or to refer to other community services
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality of client information
  • Understand inclusion and exclusion criteria for the various programs offered by CASGSL, and assign clients to appropriate funding sources
  • Schedule, confirm and maintain records of initial client appointments for clinicians
  • Maintain the client waitlist and schedule those clients as availability allows
  • Train, oversee, and supervise intake staff members and students
  • Manage data within electronic health record system
  • Perform community outreach to educate stakeholders about CASGSL
  • Liaise with intake managers at other agencies to promote a coordinated service system
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary and appropriate by manager of clinical services

Minimum Qualifications:

An Associate's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work or counseling from an accredited program or equivalent relevant experience
  • Must be eligible to be licensed as a LMSW or a PLPC within the state of Missouri
  • Minimum of 2+ years of work experience with children, adolescents, and families
  • Must possess good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
